Boats come in all different shapes and sizes and are often designed to specific functions with different amenities.
For example, the avid outdoorsman looking to do some fishing in Waukesha County would be looking for a boat equipped with fish-finders, rod-holders and life-wells. Whereas a family celebrating a family-reunion or a birthday would be looking for a larger tritoon boat with extra capacity to host the extended family, or try to rent a boat that can pull a tube for tubing or hold a splash pad to enjoy some family fun-time swimming in the clean waters of Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc, or Okauchee lake. In essence there are four major factors to consider when deciding on which boat you would like to rent.

What activities would your group or family enjoy on the lake? If you wish to Fish one of our pontoon boats it might be sufficient to rent a boat with lower horsepower and a smaller capacity, and a boat that is equipped with rod-holders and possibly a life well and a fishfinder. The Lady Micky features a fish finder and rod holders and the SMS Adalia features rod holders and a life well for example, so both would be a great match for those interested in fishing. For sunset rentals, lower HP boats also might be a better option, simply because Wisconsin law requires one to drive below wake speed after sunset and watersports such as water skiing are not permitted after sunset and lower hp and sunset rentals come at a more attractive price point. Bachelorette and Bachelor Parties might once again opt to select a boat based on amenities such as back facing lounge seating and mood lighting and sound systems etc. Here our recommendation would be the Duchess Dorian, Empress Laura or Queen Esther.

How large is the capacity of each boat, and how many people would I like to take out onto the water? Different Boats have different capacities. Cost of renting a boat largely depends on capacity and horsepower. While these are not the only factors, the amount of Passengers on a boat is determined by the boat’s displacement. 10 passenger pontoons are more affordable to rent than a 12 or 14 passenger tritoon. If you are looking for a higher capacity boat, the Duchess Dorian and the Empress Laura might be your boat of choice. If you don’t have as many people on board, choosing Princess Katharina or Queen Esther might be your preferred choice.

How much horsepower do I need? Larger hosepower is not necessarily always a better experience. High horsepower Pontoon boats might be preferable for watersports such as tubing or water skiing, however a 150hp tritoon would be total overkill for taking say 8 or 9 year old children out on the water and might actually be somewhat counterproductive as the speed would intimidate and scare the littles. Our smaller 60hp pontoons are totally adequate for the first timers and even the lower hp boats are equipped with tubing rails. Tubes and Splash pads or Lily pads are rented separately though.

Not all of our pontoon boats and tritoons have a dedicated trailer for delivery to other lakes. When considering renting a pontoon or tritoon on any other lake other than Okauchee, such as Lac la Belle, Peewaukee, Nagawicka ect. be sure to give us a call to determine if we can deliver the specific boat during the specific time and day you are wishing to have your rental. All rentals are final and unless explicit arrangements for a different lake have been made prior to your reservation, your rental will be on Okauchee lake in Waukesha County. Lake Country Area is incredibly well suited for.
